Clash Kittens welcomes friendly new members who play Clash Royale and are interested in regularly participating in clan wars.  The heart and soul of our clan is our Elders. New members are promoted to Elder when they get 1,000 Medals in clan wars, which should be during their first week in membership.  We also have leaders, who exist to serve the Elders and their role is explained here too.

New Members

New members are all trial members who are given the oppertunity to demonstrate that they are a good fit with Clash Kittens.  Not everyone is a good fit. People who are request and donate cards, participate in Clan Wars, and are friendly. When the clan is at or near 50 people (which is most of the time), we look at members to see which members look least likely to be a good fit and we kick them. New Members who are active, request and donate cards, post on the forum, and most importantly participate in clan wars are looked at positively and those who don't are looked at negatively. Once a new member gets 1,000 clan wars medals, that person gets promoted to Elder. Clan Wars involves creating 4 battle decks that you can use every day. 3 days of the week are training days that don't earn medals and 4 days are battle days. Each battle earns 100 to 250 medals and so a Clan Wars round is 4 days where you can battle 4 times each day. If you lose 10 battles, you get 1,000 medals, so reaching Elder is about participation and doesn't require skill.  If you get 400 or more medals your first day in Clan Wars, you're completely safe that day. Same for day 2, and by day 3 at the latest, you qualify for promotion to elder. Most people get 1,000 medals in 2 days.  Of course, you can also be kicked if you are abusive, mean, or spam a lot. New members are not allowed to join the forum until they make elder at this time.

Elders

Elders are members in good standing. They are the heart and soul of Clash Kitten.  Elders may register on our online forum. Elders are responsible for participating in clan wars. They are expected to also request cards as they are able, and we encourage donating cards as well.  Many of our members are trying to level up their level and donating cards is important for doing that, so it is very important for people to request cards so that others can donate. Donating cards is something we encourage as it is to the benefit of players to donate as many cards as possible, but it is not a requirement because it doesn't actually benefit anyone except the person donating since we have more than enough people who donate as much as possible. Elders are expected to try to play all 4 war decks every day when possible. We realize it's not always possible, but we are a clan of Clash Royale players who play Clan Wars and we expect Elders to usually get 1,000 medals or more each week for clan wars.  We understand going under that number some weeks.  Sometimes, you only have time to start a Clan Wars battle and then disconnect. That's ok.  Somestimes, you just have time to start a duel and leave the game playing in the background or dissconnect after it starts. That's 200 medals. If you do that every day, you get 800 medals and it takes only a few seconds to log in, start a duel, and then disconnect. There is nothing wrong with not feeling like trying some days and just starting 4 clan wars battles in Clash Royale and doing something else while you lose in the background. That's 400 medals and it helps our clan and it's role model behavior.  If you lose every game and get 1,600 medals every week for a couple of months that's a lot better than someone who wins every game and gets 900 medals per day one week for 3,600 medals that round and then stops playing. We are looking for people who will be playing Clash Royale for years, enjoy it, and want to be part of our online community, and that includes people with 9k trophies and people with 3k trophies and we are not going to kick an Elder for not having enough trophies or for lacking skill.

Elders are not required to do anything beyond playing the game and not hurting anyone's feelings. Elders have the following rights:

Senior Elders

Elders who register for the online forum become senior elders. This is a subgroup of Elders who register for the forum. Senior Elders have all the rights and resonsiblities of Elders, and additionally may give input on the forum, raise issues there, and participate in online discusion. Senior Elders may create content and share information online, including links to content they believe will help Clash Kittens.  People who are interested in becoming co-leaders should register for the forum and particiapte there. Co-leaders are responsible for leading an area of work, Elders are not. That said, Senior Elders can request or propose to lead an area of work and doing this successfully for a while, along with meeting other requirements, will almost certainly result in promotion to co-leader. This is the fastest path to co-leader.

Co-Leaders

Senior Elders who wish to contribute more can be promoted to co-leaders, but it would be missleading to call it a promotion. Elders are full members and they don't exist to serve the leaders, the leaders exist to serve them. Co-leaders do the administrative work of the clan like managing this website, posting deck suggestions, answering questions, posting about events, reminding people about Clan Wars, aand other important service that helps the Elders of the Clash Kittens to enjoy their experience and focus on playing.  To be considered for Co-Leader a person must be an Elder. They must be registered on our forum. They must regularly get over 4,000 medals per month (or an average of 1,000 a week). They must agree to login to a special leaders only forum atleast every week to be part of making important clan decisions. They must warn or kick abusive player, and must be friendly and help answer questions and serve the clan Elders.  We are very greatful to our leaders and we are excited when people ask about leadership. People who are willing to prove themselves as wanting to serve their fellow clan members are a blessing and being a co-leader isn't an exclusive thing that we reserve only for certain people. If you want to be a co-leader, make it to Elder, be nice, participate in clan wars, request and donate cards, join the online forum, and it should work out for you. The length of time for waiting to become a co-leader isn't the same for everyone. People who are more active in posting tips, advice, suggestions, replays, and helping their fellow clan mates improve their decks get promoted more quickly than people who are newer at the game and contribute with encouraging posts and exeamplary participation, but every member has a path to co-leader who wants it and meets the requirements. Never is that path under 1 month's time as an Elder in the clan. People intererested in co-leader on day one are not a good match usually. A good match for co-leader is someone who joins Clash Kittens because they want to donate/request cards and wants to play Clan Wars and wants to learn about the game to get better and wants to be part of a community of similar people. Then, that person appreciates his/her fellow clan members and makes friends and wants to contribute because he/she beleives Clash Kittens is something special. That's what we are looking for in a co-leader.  Someone who wants to do a little extra work to help out friends. On average, the path from new member to co-leader is 2 to 4 months. The best ways to stand out and make it closer to 2 are: getting over 2,000 trophies every week, Posting game replays where you explain why you won/lost, posting example decks and explaining how to play them well, posting tips, asking good questions and making good suggestions, not spamming, making encouraging posts/emojis to support fellow clan members, inviting new people to the clan, inviting new people to the clan to participate in clan wars (yep, it's good to invite people and better if they are actually good members), having a positive attitude (for example saying good game, well played, and postive comments and not spamming yawn or chicken when you lose or crying when you win). Not cursing, talking about adult things, and not saying things that hurt people's feelings are requirements for being a co-leader. Co-leaders serve all the members and they need to be extra nice people.
